When Portola Elementary School opened its doors it was about a decade after the sidewalks were were stamped and cemented in the fast growing City of Bueanaventura. It was merely, one small building surrounded by bungalows and a small play area, but those bungalows were filled with students that were excited to attend the newest school in the county!

Now, about 50 years later, Portola stands, over three times the size it once was and shinning brighter than ever! Our school is filled with dedicated teachers who have stayed at Portola for over two decades and faculty who attended Portola when they were students.

Many of our teachers and faculty have attended Portola as students, as well as many parents of students today!

"Portola shines because of you" is more than just a saying, more than just a motto, its the foundation our school was built on.
